Build clear, audit-ready documentation across complex systems. We're looking for an experienced Technical Author with a strong technical background to support a fast-moving environment where documentation, workflows, and SOX-aligned controls need to be brought up to standard quickly.
What you'll be doing:
- Documenting business processes, workflows, and operational procedures
- Building IT automated control documentation aligned to SOX requirements
- Mapping data flows across systems and integrations
- Creating system overviews, architecture notes, and technical reference material
- Working with SOX partners to ensure evidence, controls, and processes are complete and compliant
- Helping the organisation catch up on documentation backlog and establish repeatable standards
What we're looking for:
- Proven experience as a Technical Author in IT, security, or compliance-heavy environments
- Strong understanding of SOC controls, audit cycles, and evidence requirements
- Ability to translate complex technical systems into clear, structured documentation
- Experience working with engineers, architects, and compliance teams
- Comfortable working independently in a fully remote contract role
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to bring order to messy or incomplete documentation
