About the Role
We're seeking a detail-oriented Finance Assistant with a strong focus on Accounts Payable (AP) to join our finance team on a 12-month fixed-term basis. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys taking ownership of high-volume transactional processes.
Working closely with the wider finance team, you'll play a key role in ensuring supplier invoices are processed accurately and efficiently, maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
Key Responsibilities
- Accounts Payable (Primary Focus):
- Processing high volumes of supplier invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely posting
- Matching, batching, and coding invoices to correct cost centres and accounts
- Managing the AP inbox and resolving invoice queries promptly
- Preparing and processing weekly/monthly payment runs
- Reconciling supplier statements and investigating discrepancies
- Maintaining supplier records and setting up new accounts
- Assisting with bank reconciliations and cash postings
- Supporting month-end close processes
- Assisting with accruals and prepayments where required
- Providing general administrative support to the finance team
- Supporting audits and compliance checks
About You
- Previous experience in a Finance Assistant / Accounts Payable role (essential)
- Comfortable working in a high-volume, fast-paced AP environment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good understanding of accounting principles and finance processes
- Proficient in Excel and finance systems (experience with ERP systems advantageous)
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- A proactive, team-oriented approach with the ability to meet deadlines
