My client, a rapidly growing, PE-backed property business, are looking to appoint a Project Finance Manager to join their Corporate Finance team in South Manchester.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ACA/ACCA/CIMA-qualified accountant with experience in an advisory, transaction services or corporate finance environment who is looking to transition into an in-house role.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting and leading on a wide range of complex transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, restructures and refinancing activities. The role will provide significant exposure to senior stakeholders across the organisation and the opportunity to contribute to a period of substantial growth and investment.
What you'll do:
- Lead the accounting for property acquisitions and disposals, ensuring transactions are accurately accounted for and appropriately documented.
- Manage the annual and bi-annual property revaluation process, working closely with relevant stakeholders across the business.
- Develop detailed Excel models covering the accounting implications of restructures, debt transactions and distributions across complex corporate structures.
- Provide technical accounting guidance, training and review to the wider finance team.
- Work closely with financial and non-financial stakeholders to provide accounting advice and analysis on complex and ad-hoc transactions.
- Contribute to group-wide legal entity reporting projects and wider finance initiatives.
- Investigate and resolve accounting issues, responding to complex and ad-hoc queries from stakeholders across the organisation.
- Support the Head of Project Accounting, Head of Corporate Reporting and Group Financial Controller with key deliverables and team priorities.
- Identify opportunities to improve existing financial processes and lead projects to implement enhancements across the finance function.
What you bring:
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified with significant post-qualification experience, ideally gained within a complex or matrix organisation.
- Proven experience of working on group restructures, complex transactions and significant accounting events.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, with a sound understanding of financial statements, month-end, budgeting and cash flow forecasting.
- Strong systems capability and intermediate/advanced Excel skills, including experience developing financial models.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- Strong commercial awareness and an ability to understand the wider business and legal considerations associated with complex transactions.
- A proactive and analytical approach, with the confidence to question transactions and provide constructive challenge.
- The ability to work at pace, manage competing priorities and maintain a high level of accuracy.
- A strong sense of ownership and accountability, with the ability to work collaboratively and deliver against deadlines.
