A brilliant opportunity has arisen to join the established finance function of a large, highly-regarded organisation based in Sheffield. You will be reporting into a brilliant Finance Manager who believes in development and progression from within.

My client is looking for a talented and proactive management accountant looking for their next move in their career to join a brilliant Finance team in Sheffield. This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated and ambitious individual to join a dynamic and forward-thinking Finance team.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a fundamental role in the financial reporting processes for the function, delivering high quality information to tight deadlines. You will prepare management information for the senior leadership team and will undertake financial planning activities to support successful decision making.

What this role will involve:

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Variance analysis of actual performance including cost reconciliations and analysis of profit variances
  • Supporting business budgeting and forecasting, including cash flow
  • Revenue recognition and WIP reconciliation
  • Ensuring correct revenue and cost allocation across works
  • Production of Balance Sheet reconciliations, along with identification of and dealing with potential issues
  • Business partnering with overhead functions to support management of cost base
  • Ad-hoc financial analysis to support business strategy and performance
  • Preparation of information and liaising with Group Finance and external auditors as required

About you:

  • Relevant finance qualification (for example, ACCA/CIMA/ACA)
  • Strong IT skills, particularly in the use of Microsoft Excel (SAP experience would be an advantage but not crucial)
  • Previous management accountancy experience in a similar environment, including working with profit centres and producing variance analyses
  • Experience of business partnering
