About the role: A newly created Senior Legal Counsel role, reporting directly into the senior leadership, working closely with a co-founder who is a former City lawyer. Your primary focus will be on owning the IP strategy, encompassing brand protection, complex trademarks and enforcement matters. You will also advise on IP considerations in relation to corporate acquisitions and sales. You will also be required to negotiate and review the likes of supplier, distribution, agency and manufacturing agreements as part of the small team. Additionally, you will ensure corporate governance compliance as necessary. The position will manage two junior lawyers, and will require a presence in the West London offices on a hybrid working basis (three days).
About you: You will be an intellectual property focused lawyer, trained in England Wales, or another major common law jurisdiction, with significant UK experience. The ideal combination will be practice training interspersed with in-house exposure (including secondments). While the guidance PQE level is 5-7 PQE, the organisation will happily look at lawyers different levels of relevant experience. Brand protection experience and/or in-house exposure within e-commerce or consumer focused organisations will be welcome. This is a rare in-house IP legal role offering the significant incentive of stock options, within a successful business that is set to hit new heights this year.
