Overview
Senior IT Support Technician (MDM/JAMF) role at Robert Walters. This is a temporary/part-time position (30 hours per week) in London, initially five days onsite, before moving to three days.
What you\βll do
As a Senior IT Support Technician, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations for internal clients by providing expert guidance across desktop support, cloud applications, network infrastructure maintenance, and device management. Your responsibilities will include mentoring junior technicians, overseeing onboarding/offboarding activities, managing asset inventories, and delivering high-quality technical assistance for both macOS- and Windows-based environments. You will drive process improvements through IT projects and maintain robust documentation. By collaborating with teams across time zones, you will help ensure consistent service delivery and communicate clearly with non-technical staff. You will also conduct user training sessions and troubleshoot complex issues.
* A minimum of three yearsβ experience supporting macOS laptops or desktops in a professional setting is required for this role.
* Demonstrated proficiency supporting computers running macOS (10.14 onwards) as well as Windows 10/11 operating systems is essential.
* Hands-on experience with cloud-based email platforms such as Office 365 or Google Workspace along with mobile device management (iOS) is highly valued.
* Proven ability to communicate empathetically with non-technical colleagues while listening respectfully to their concerns is crucial for success.
* Experience configuring computers (both Windows and macOS), installing applications, setting up user accounts, and managing device security protocols is necessary.
* Practical knowledge of troubleshooting network infrastructure including wired/wireless networks, VoIP systems, and managed printing solutions (including basic printer maintenance) is expected.
* Familiarity with centralised management/MDM tools for operating system configuration/administration (e.g., JAMF Pro or Intune) is important for this position.
* Ability to follow written documentation accurately when performing tasks or adhering to established procedures is required.
* Exhibit leadership qualities by guiding less experienced technicians through complex issues while fostering a learning environment within the team.
