Interim Management Accountant (x2) - 6 Month FTC

Location: Salford (2-3 days per week in the office)
Salary: £45,000-£50,000 + Benefits
Contract: 6 Month Fixed-Term Contract

The Opportunity

We are recruiting two Interim Management Accountants to join the finance team of a well-known, market-leading organisation based in Salford.

These roles will offer a varied mix of core management accounting responsibilities alongside supporting a wider finance transformation project. You'll play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting while also helping improve the quality and integrity of financial data and processes.

This is an excellent opportunity for an accountant who enjoys both BAU finance and getting involved in process improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly management accounts and support the month-end close process.
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate reconciling items.
  • Post journals, accruals and prepayments.
  • Analyse financial results, investigating variances and providing commentary.
  • Support year-end audit requirements and maintain strong financial controls.
  • Assist with data cleansing activities to improve the quality and accuracy of financial information.
  • Review and resolve historical financial discrepancies and reconciliation issues.
  • Support finance process improvements and systems-related projects.
  • Work closely with stakeholders across the finance function to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Ensure work is completed to tight month-end and project deadlines.

About You

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA
  • Previous experience in a Management Accountant role within a large or complex organisation.
  • Strong month-end and balance sheet reconciliation experience.
  • Excellent Excel skills and confidence working with large volumes of financial data.
  • Analytical, organised and highly detail-oriented.
  • Comfortable managing BAU responsibilities whilst contributing to finance improvement projects.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships across finance teams.
  • Experience with Oracle or other large ERP systems would be advantageous but is not essential.
