A brand new vacancy for an experienced QMS professional to join a fantastic FMCG business in North Wales with a strong global reputation. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about product safety, quality assurance, and continuous improvement within the fast-moving consumer goods sector.

As the Quality Systems Lead, you'll play a pivotal part in shaping and maintaining the plant Safety & Quality Management systems, ensuring legal compliance and exceptional product standards. You will be empowered to drive positive change across the business, working closely with cross-functional teams to embed a culture of quality and safety.

What you'll do:

  • Reporting directly to the Head of Quality, you'll ensure that every aspect of product safety and quality is meticulously managed throughout the plant.
  • Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve collaborating with various departments to refine existing systems while proactively identifying areas for improvement.
  • You will take ownership of internal audits, preparing thoroughly for external assessments and ensuring that all documentation is accurate and compliant with industry standards.
  • By fostering strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders alike, you will help build a culture where quality is everyone's responsibility.
  • Your ability to communicate clearly about complex issues will be essential as you guide teams through change management processes.

  • Champion the development and maintenance of the site's QMS to ensure robust documentation and process control.
  • Collaborate with Operations teams to establish, review, and enhance procedures, standards, and systems that underpin safety and quality.
  • Conduct thorough internal process and system audits, preparing for corporate, customer, third-party, and internal audits by managing action trackers and SAP QM documentation.
  • Prepare detailed customer specifications and Declarations of Compliance to guarantee all products meet regulatory requirements and client expectations.
  • Ensure local supplier approval processes are followed rigorously by maintaining up-to-date contract records and supporting new resin/material qualification submissions via SAP.
  • Document Hazard Analysis & Risk Assessment (HARA) team activities by recording reviews and audit findings accurately for future reference.
  • Promote adherence to all local and company safety policies as well as housekeeping/6S requirements to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Comply fully with operational procedures, standard operating procedures (SOPs), instruction manuals, and any other relevant documentation as required by the business.

What you bring:

  • Proven experience from an FMCG manufacturing environment such as food, packaging or liquid filling where supplier engagement, audit management, and quality system coordination have been central to your role.
  • Demonstrated experience within FMCG industries involving supplier/customer contact, audit management, and coordination of Quality Systems.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills enabling you to compose clear customer communications and detailed audit reports.
  • Advanced computer literacy including proficiency with MS Office software suite; comfortable interfacing with ERP systems such as SAP.
  • Meticulous attention to detail ensuring precision and accuracy in all work outputs while consistently striving for high standards in product safety and quality.
  • Proven ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
  • Experience participating in or leading BRCGS, AIB International Standards inspections, GMP practices, ISO9001 or EN15343 compliance initiatives is highly desirable.
  • Track record of driving continual quality improvement initiatives within a manufacturing setting through effective problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to document risk assessment activities comprehensively while supporting HARA team reviews/audits as needed.
