What You\’ll Do
- Provide comprehensive advice on wills and estate planning for clients, including effective lifetime tax planning tailored to individual needs.
- Administer estates efficiently, handling all aspects of post-death inheritance tax planning with sensitivity and professionalism.
- Manage lasting powers of attorney and court of protection matters, ensuring clients’ interests are protected at every stage.
- Advise on the creation and ongoing administration of trusts, offering clear guidance to clients throughout the process.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws relating to wills, trusts, and probate to ensure accurate and current advice is provided.
- Achieve annual fee earning targets by delivering high-quality legal services in a timely manner while maintaining cost-effectiveness.
- Cross-sell additional services across the firm by identifying client needs and acting as an ambassador for the wider practice.
- Handle an agreed caseload of private client matters in consultation with the department head, ensuring each case receives careful attention.
- Utilise office procedures and systems effectively to manage cases in accordance with firm standards and best practices.
- Contribute positively to team meetings by sharing insights that help streamline internal processes and enhance overall effectiveness.
What You Bring
- You must be a qualified lawyer (either Solicitor or CILEX Lawyer) with at least 1+ years’ post-qualification experience in private client work.
- Your background should include broad experience across estate planning, administration of estates, trusts, wills, probate law, and related areas.
- You have demonstrated success in developing and maintaining positive client relationships built on trust and understanding.
- Your commercial awareness enables you to deliver client-focused solutions that align with both legal requirements and personal circumstances.
- You possess strong legal research skills alongside excellent drafting abilities that ensure accuracy in all documentation produced.
- Your written and verbal communication skills allow you to explain complex legal concepts clearly to clients from all backgrounds.
