Direct Recruiter – RWO Global Sourcing (EMEA) – Operations Associate in Glasgow (Hybrid). FTC: 12 Months. Location: Glasgow – Hybrid. The role sits within a premier operations division, acting as the first line of defence for the firm’s financial and reputational well-being. What you\\\'ll do:

As an Operations Associate based in Glasgow, you will support the trading activities of bond borrow and secured funding business units. Your day-to-day responsibilities include ensuring regulatory compliance through meticulous transaction reporting, resolving exceptions by liaising with internal teams, and contributing to new business initiatives. You will monitor risk metrics, maintain essential documentation, participate in business continuity exercises, and drive process improvements. Success requires building strong cross-department relationships and maintaining attention to detail in a dynamic environment.

  • Participate in project readiness tasks to ensure ongoing regulatory compliance with transaction reporting obligations.
  • Oversee controls to guarantee complete, accurate, and timely submission of all transaction reports, maintaining high standards of operational integrity.
  • Monitor and resolve transaction reporting exceptions by working with Business Units, Security Settlements, Corporate Actions teams, and external partners.
  • Provide subject matter expertise when collaborating with the trade desk and other operations colleagues to assess the impact of new business or product initiatives on reporting processes.
  • Analyze trends in reporting exceptions to identify root causes and implement solutions at source, enhancing process efficiency.
  • Track KRIs and KPIs to ensure the team meets risk management and performance benchmarks.
  • Maintain up-to-date Written Supervisory Procedures, Process Maps, and System access requirements to support robust operational governance.
  • Contribute to business continuity planning (BCP) transference testing and knowledge transfer between Glasgow and Bangalore teams.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvements and create efficiencies in daily operations.
  • Support IT developments by providing operational insights that help shape technology enhancements.

What you bring:

To excel in this role, you should have proven experience from investment operations or related fields where you have managed complex processes and risk controls. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential to foster collaboration across multiple teams and locations. You should be adaptable to ongoing changes and capable of handling significant workloads with accuracy and efficiency.

  • Experience managing processes, risk controls, or similar functions within investment operations or financial services environments.
  • Proven relationship management skills with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams locally and globally.
  • Ability to handle high-volume workloads with strong prioritisation and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills for relationships with business units, internal stakeholders, vendors, and external partners.
  • Positive attitude towards change management and continuous process improvement.
  • Understanding of escalation procedures and the ability to stay composed under pressure.
  • Keen interest in questioning existing procedures to drive operational excellence.
  • Previous exposure to securities financing is advantageous but not essential; experience in investment operations provides a solid foundation.
  • Experience supporting run-the-bank activities or similar operational support roles is valued.
