A manufacturing business is looking to appoint an EHS Support Specialist to support site operations during a busy period of operational change and project activity. This is a hands-on, site-based role suited to someone who enjoys being operationally involved, working closely with engineering, production and contractor teams to maintain high environmental, health & safety standards within a complex industrial environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Supporting day-to-day EHS activities across site
- Assisting with hazardous chemical management, COSHH and SDS reviews
- Coordinating contractors, RAMS reviews and permit to work activities
- Supporting audits, inspections and compliance reporting
- Assisting with incident investigations and corrective actions
- Supporting environmental compliance, waste management and emergency preparedness
- Providing EHS input into site projects, modifications and change activities
What we're looking for:
- Previous experience within an industrial, manufacturing, engineering or chemical environment
- Strong understanding of UK EHS legislation and practical application
- Experience with contractor management, risk assessments and incident investigations
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced plant environment
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Degree qualified in a relevant scientific or chemical discipline
Desirable:
- COMAH or chemical manufacturing exposure
- ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 experience
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent
