Our client based in Norwich is seeking two Legal Cashiers to join their firm.
The position offers flexible working, requiring 1 day per week in the office, and the salary is negotiable.
What you'll do: Reconcile all firm bank accounts daily to ensure accurate financial records are maintained in line with regulatory requirements.
Process incoming funds via Internet Banking promptly, investigating and allocating monies according to established policies.
Manage outgoing payments from the firm's accounts by electronic transfer or cheque, adhering strictly to internal procedures and Solicitors Accounts Rules (SARs).
Check and process bills efficiently, ensuring all documentation is accurate and compliant with firm standards.
Monitor client balances closely, collaborating with fee earners to clear balances after completion so that funds are returned without delay.
Transfer costs and disbursements as required, maintaining meticulous records throughout each transaction.
Liaise directly with clients over the phone to take card payments, providing a polite and customer-focused service at all times.
Support fee-earners and secretaries on all financial matters by responding promptly to queries via email, phone or video call.
Report any breaches immediately to the Senior Accounts Manager and assist in remedying issues as soon as they are discovered.
Log all incoming cheques accurately and request postings when necessary, ensuring no detail is overlooked.
What you bring: Experience using client accounting systems including performing reconciliations against bank accounts is essential for this position.
Familiarity with SRA rules and regulations relating to client accounts would be highly desirable but not mandatory.
A calm approach under pressure combined with flexibility and adaptability when managing changing workloads is important for success.
Excellent communication skills are required so you can interact effectively with colleagues at all levels as well as clients over the phone or by email.
A motivated attitude paired with strong organisational abilities ensures you can manage competing priorities efficiently.
