Manchester-based (generous hybrid policy) Up to £65,000 DOE. I’m delighted to be exclusively partnered with a professional services firm in their search for a Projects Accountant. This role will play an integral part in the award-winning projects team. A very dynamic environment and an exciting time to join a growing organisation.
This Project Accountant will play a pivotal role in the forecasting, viability assessment and reporting of key business projects and M&A activity. The role will also be responsible for conducting internal WIP audits, ensuring accuracy, consistency and confidence in WIP valuation as the business scales. The role works closely with the Transformation and Integration teams, as well as the Executive Leadership team, to support the successful financial delivery of ongoing projects and acquisitions.
Key Duties:- Build robust financial models to evaluate the viability, returns and risks of new projects and acquisition targets prior to approval.
- Prepare scenario modelling and sensitivity analysis, including acquisition specific assumptions.
- Support business case and investment committee submissions with evidence led financial insight and recommendations.
- Lead the financial tracking and reporting of assigned projects and acquisitions, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and control.
- Maintain project and acquisition budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
- Act as the financial partner to various stakeholders.
- Attend project, integration and investment meetings, providing expert financial input and challenge where appropriate.
- Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
- Strong project accounting and financial analysis background.
- Proven experience in financial forecasting, modelling and assessing project viability.
- Excellent communication skills, able to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Advanced Excel and strong financial modelling skills.
