As a trusted in-house counsel, you will work closely with senior management, underwriting teams, claims handlers and other business stakeholders, delivering pragmatic, commercially focused legal advice across a broad range of matters.

The Role

This is a varied and hands-on position where no two days are the same. Your responsibilities will include:

About You

We're looking for someone who combines strong technical legal skills with commercial awareness and a collaborative approach. You will have:

  • At least 4 years' PQE gained in private practice or an in-house legal team.
  • Strong experience in commercial contracting and non-contentious commercial work.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation and communication skills.
  • The confidence to advise senior stakeholders and influence decision-making.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to manage a varied workload and make sound commercial judgements.

Experience within the insurance sector is highly desirable, particularly knowledge of the Lloyd's market, managing agencies and syndicate structures. However, we welcome applications from candidates with transferable commercial legal experience who are keen to develop their expertise in this specialist area.

Why Join?

This is an opportunity to become part of a highly regarded in-house legal team where you'll gain exposure to a broad range of legal matters and work closely with key decision-makers across the business. You'll play a meaningful role in supporting the continued success and growth of the organisation while developing your expertise within the specialist Lloyd's insurance market.
