We are supporting a client of ours in their search for a Bookkeeper. They require someone to support them in covering a short term temporary position starting in mid May. This role offers the opportunity to utilise your financial expertise within a dynamic environment, managing accounts payable and receivable transactions, generating VAT invoices, payroll and financial reports. You will play a crucial role in reconciling multiple bank accounts, performing credit control and assisting in the preparation of yearly accounts and quarterly VAT returns. Your excellent numerical and analytical skills will be key in resolving customer financial queries promptly and collaborating with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial information.

What you'll do: As a Bookkeeper, you will be at the heart of the company's financial operations. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
  • Generating VAT invoices and payroll, including pension calculations and submissions
  • Reconciling multiple bank accounts, including factoring accounts
  • Performing credit control duties
  • Assisting in the preparation of yearly accounts and quarterly VAT returns
  • Generating financial reports and assist with financial analysis as needed using Sage and Excel
  • Resolving customer financial queries promptly, liaising with our sales team
  • Collaborating with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial information

The ideal candidate for this Bookkeeper position brings:

  • Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in bookkeeping or a related field
  • AAT Level 2 qualification as a minimum requirement
  • Strong experience with Sage 50 and Excel; familiarity with Insphire is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
