The Opportunity
This is a high-impact position at the intersection of innovation, governance, risk, and executive strategy. You will help shape the firm's AI roadmap, embed governance frameworks aligned with evolving regulatory expectations, and ensure AI deployment supports long-term strategic objectives while remaining secure, transparent, and controlled. This role offers unique exposure to executive leadership, enterprise-wide stakeholders, and emerging regulatory conversations shaping AI within financial services.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess the evolving AI landscape in financial services and provide strategic insight to senior leadership.
- Support the development and execution of a forward-looking AI strategy aligned to business objectives.
- Partner with business units to identify, prioritise, and assess AI use cases.
- Contribute to internal AI governance forums and shape AI-related policies, standards, and oversight mechanisms.
- Develop and deliver AI training and communications to enhance organisational AI literacy.
- Provide subject matter expertise on AI risks and opportunities, including vendor assessments and control reviews.
- Track, measure, and report on AI adoption, efficiency gains, risk mitigation, and performance outcomes.
- Support the development and implementation of enterprise-wide AI governance frameworks, policies, and controls.
- Assess the organisation's AI footprint and support incident management and compliance monitoring.
- Report regularly to executive committees on AI risk posture.
- Embed AI governance requirements into the broader enterprise risk and oversight framework.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 8 years' experience in innovation, technology governance, or risk roles - ideally within financial services.
- Strong experience designing or implementing governance frameworks (policies, risk assessments, controls).
- Deep familiarity with AI risk domains including bias, transparency, explainability, privacy, accountability, and human oversight.
- Working knowledge of regulatory and standards frameworks (e.g., UK/EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF, ISO/IEC 23894) highly desirable.
- Solid understanding of AI model development, data dependencies, monitoring, and validation principles.
- Ability to operate confidently within complex, regulated environments.
- Excellent communication skills, with experience engaging senior stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving capabilities.
- High integrity, sound judgement, and comfort navigating ambiguity.
Prior exposure to FX or financial market infrastructure environments is advantageous but not essential.
