A well-established UK consumer-focused business is looking to appoint a Financial Accountant on a fixed-term basis to support the finance function through a key reporting and controls period. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong accountant to take ownership of group balance sheet oversight, statutory reporting and financial controls within a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Oversight and review of the group balance sheet, ensuring strong controls and robust reporting
- Preparation and review of consolidated and individual statutory accounts
- Supporting quarterly and year-end reporting, ensuring compliance with IFRS and UK GAAP
- Acting as a key contact for auditors, managing audit queries and deliverables
- Preparing technical accounting papers for both internal stakeholders and external audit
- Ownership of capital asset accounting and review of capitalisation processes
- Leading on revenue recognition and supporting wider understanding of finance systems
- Driving improvements across balance sheet review processes and controls
- Reviewing month-end reconciliations and ensuring timely resolution of actions
- Supporting budgeting, financial risk reporting and wider finance transformation projects
- Producing reporting for senior leadership and board stakeholders
About you:
- ACA / ACCA
- Background in audit, ideally Top 10 trained
- Strong technical accounting knowledge across IFRS and UK GAAP
- Experience with statutory reporting and consolidations
- Advanced Excel skills
- High attention to detail and strong presentation standards
- Able to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships across finance and wider business teams
- Comfortable working independently while contributing to team objectives
