We are looking for an experienced Regulatory Reporting Accountant for a 3-6-month contract based in Leicester to support a major automation and systems implementation programme within a banking environment.
The successful candidate will have strong hands-on experience across regulatory reporting, reconciliations, regulatory rules and systems testing, with preference for candidates with capital reporting experience and exposure to both capital and liquidity reporting.
This role will be heavily involved in the preparation, validation and testing of regulatory reporting as the business moves onto a new system.
Key Responsibilities Prepare and review regulatory reporting across month-end and quarter-end reporting cycles.
Provide expertise across capital and liquidity regulatory reporting, with a particular preference for strong capital reporting experience.
Interpret and understand relevant regulatory rules and requirements, ensuring reporting is accurate and compliant.
Support the automation programme through systems testing, validation and implementation activities.
Translate existing regulatory reporting processes into the new system and validate that outputs are accurate.
Perform reconciliations and cross-validation of regulatory reporting data.
Prepare and execute test cases, investigate discrepancies and support resolution of issues identified during testing.
Work closely with technology and project teams to ensure regulatory reporting requirements are correctly reflected in the system.
Document and develop clear processes and procedures for regulatory reporting activities.
Support the transition to the new system and help ensure the automated reporting solution is fit for purpose ahead of go-live.
Required Experience 3-4 years' experience in regulatory reporting within banking or financial services.
Proven experience preparing regulatory returns/reporting.
Strong understanding of the regulatory rules and requirements underpinning reporting.
Experience with capital reporting is highly desirable.
Experience across both capital and liquidity reporting would be ideal.
Hands-on experience with regulatory reporting reconciliations, including monthly reconciliations and cross-validation.
Strong experience in systems testing and automation within a regulatory reporting environment.
Ideally, experience of preparing regulatory reports and subsequently testing those reports within a reporting system.
Ability to understand reporting requirements and translate them into system and testing requirements.
Experience writing and maintaining processes and procedures.
