We're supporting a leading manufacturing business in North Yorkshire who are looking for an Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer to join their engineering team on a Double Days (6-2, 2-10) rotating shift pattern. This is a key role focused on maximising plant performance, minimising downtime, and ensuring all electrical systems operate safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and ensure all tasks are completed in line with the maintenance system
- Perform electrical fault finding and breakdown response to minimise downtime
- Ensure all statutory inspections and compliance activities are completed on time
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on failures and implement preventative solutions
- Work with and manage external contractors, including issuing permits and ensuring safe working practices
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to drive reliability and efficiency
- Maintain high standards of health & safety, quality, and housekeeping
- Liaise with internal departments to coordinate engineering activities and minimise disruption
- Escalate any issues that could impact safety, environment, or product quality
About You
Essential:
- Minimum 5 years' post-qualification experience in a similar role
- Strong electrical fault-finding skills across single and three-phase systems
- Experience working with Siemens PLCs (fault finding/troubleshooting)
- Background within FMCG or other fast-paced manufacturing environments
- Ability to work independently and make effective decisions in a shift-based environment
- Strong understanding of safe systems of work and compliance standards
Qualifications:
- Time-served electrical apprenticeship or equivalent
- Recognised electrical qualifications
