An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Management Accountant to join a well-established and growing consulting organisation based in Milton Keynes. This role offers full ownership of the UK Consulting entity's finance function, delivering high-quality management accounts and providing meaningful commercial insight across a diverse portfolio.

Working closely with operational teams, commercial stakeholders, and senior leadership, you will play a key role in supporting decision-making, improving financial performance, and strengthening financial controls. This position is ideal for a qualified accountant who enjoys a hands-on role in a fast-paced, project-based environment and values collaboration and continuous improvement. The organisation is open to considering first-time movers from practice who are keen to transition into a commercial, industry-facing role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Full preparation and ownership of monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and cashflow
  • Detailed gross margin, project, and overhead analysis with clear commentary against budget and forecast
  • Acting as a key finance business partner to operational and commercial teams
  • Ownership of balance sheet reconciliations, including project balances and invoice discounting
  • Supporting budgeting and forecasting cycles
  • Preparing statutory accounts working papers and liaising with auditors
  • Managing VAT calculations, reconciliations, and submissions
  • Driving process and systems improvements to enhance efficiency and control
  • Providing ad hoc analysis and support on wider group or strategic projects
What you bring:
  • Hold a recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
  • Have experience producing management accounts or be a first-time mover from practice with strong technical foundations
  • Demonstrate excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Be highly organised, detail-oriented, and dependable, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Bring a proactive mindset with a willingness to improve processes and support colleagues
