Our client is seeking a detail-oriented, proactive and adaptable Group Finance Accountant to join their team in London. This role will play a crucial part in managing the Corporate Accounting Services global process, including the centralization and streamlining of processes such as foreign exchange, leases, fixed assets and more. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of US GAAP and SOX compliance, ensuring accurate financial reporting and contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the finance function.
What you'll do:
- Support the Group Finance Manager in managing the Corporate Accounting Services global process
- Contribute to the centralization and streamlining of processes such as foreign exchange, leases, fixed assets
- Ensure accurate financial reporting in line with US GAAP and SOX compliance requirements
- Work towards continuous improvement within the finance function
- Establish and maintain solid internal and external working relationships
- Influence stakeholders effectively
What you bring:
- Strong understanding of US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
- Understanding of internal controls and risk management practices including SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance requirements
- Technical understanding of insurance accounting and regulatory requirements
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems
- Advanced Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint, and Sharepoint skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
