Job: Financial Accountant (9 Month FTC)
Location: Hatfield, Hertfordshire
Salary: 65k-70k
Length of contract: 9 Months
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Financial Accountant to join a dynamic team in Hatfield on a 9 month FTC.
Responsibilities include:
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with IFRS and relevant local GAAP standards.
- Prepare financial documentation and working papers for internal and external purposes, ensuring completeness and audit-readiness.
- Manage month-end close activities including journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and preparation of supporting documentation.
- Ensure financial records and statements comply with legal, regulatory, and internal policy requirements.
- Analyse practices and suggest improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls, financial policies, and process documentation.
- Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to assist with business decision-making.
- Demonstrate flexibility in supporting wider finance team responsibilities as needed.
The ideal candidate:
- ACCA or ACA qualified or equivalent, with at least 2 years of experience in a financial accounting or audit role.
- Strong technical knowledge of IFRS standards and UK GAAP.
- Strong Excel skills with knowledge of ERP systems.
- Proven ability to manage month-end close processes and reconciliations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to present financial information clearly.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
