A leading organisation in the Retail sector is seeking a detail oriented and dependable Financial Accountant to join their team. This position offers you the chance to play a pivotal role in supporting multiple legal entities and reporting divisions, with significant exposure to financial reporting, intercompany accounting, statutory accounts, and audit processes.
You will support the month-end close through journal preparation, variance analysis, and management reporting. You will prepare monthly accounts for subsidiary entities, manage intercompany reconciliations for group consolidation, and complete balance sheet reconciliations to ensure data accuracy. The role will involve preparing statutory accounts under FRS 102, supporting external audits, and contributing to group reporting and disclosure packs.
Responsibilities of the Financial Accountant- Support month-end close activities by preparing postings, conducting variance analysis, and compiling comprehensive management account packs for review.
- Prepare monthly accounts for small subsidiary entities and standalone divisions, including managing intercompany reconciliation and elimination submissions to facilitate group consolidation.
- Perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of all financial data across multiple entities.
- Prepare statutory financial statements under FRS 102 guidelines and provide robust support for external audit requests.
- Contribute to group disclosure packs as well as broader financial reporting requirements, ensuring all information is accurate and submitted on time.
- Ensure full compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and relevant legislation while supporting a strong internal control environment.
- Assist the tax team with transfer pricing arrangements and intercompany loan agreements, ensuring all documentation is complete and compliant.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements within intercompany accounting and financial reporting processes to enhance overall efficiency and accuracy.
