Business Operational Risk Lead
Location: London (Hybrid: Tuesday-Thursday in office)

About the Role

A leading global investment firm is seeking an experienced professional to lead business resiliency efforts across its European investment operations. This pivotal role ensures that investment activities continue seamlessly in the face of disruption – from technology outages to market events – while maintaining compliance with global and regional regulations.

As the Business Operational Risk Lead, you'll take ownership of the business continuity and operational resilience agenda across investment desks, while supporting global initiatives in access management and market data governance. Working closely with trading, operations, technology, and risk partners, you'll help shape and embed resilient practices that safeguard the firm's operations and reputation.

What You'll Do

• Lead and continuously enhance business continuity and operational resilience programs, ensuring compliance with EU/UK regulations.
• Conduct and support risk and control assessments, analyze outcomes, and present key insights to leadership.
• Strengthen governance frameworks and ensure consistent implementation of global risk policies across investment teams.
• Develop and maintain risk metrics and reporting tools to monitor performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive readiness, process enhancement, and global alignment.
• Support regional initiatives, including access management, market data vendor oversight, and participation in global risk projects.

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in business continuity, operational resilience, risk management, or investment operations.
• Background from asset management, investment banking, or a trading support/control function preferred.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and coordination skills with the ability to influence across global teams.
• Experience with automation or reporting tools (Power BI, Appian, Python) is a plus but not essential.

Team & Structure

• Based in London, reporting globally to the head of investment resiliency.

• Close collaboration with local investment support teams, as well as peers in APAC and the U.S.

• Operates as a standalone regional role with support from global colleagues.
