Overview

This will initially be on a three month contract with the likelihood of extension. The plan is to hire permanently later in the year so the contractor has the opportunity to put themselves in pole position for that role. It is intended at this stage to be a part-time (3 days per week) arrangement but with the flexibility to occasionally work 4 days if there is business need in any given week. The preference is for the contractor to be in the office 1 day per week but a remote working option can be considered for the right candidate (as long as they are able and willing to travel to the London office for key stakeholder meetings when required). Please note you must have the right to work, and be based in, the UK to undertake this role. Unfortunately sponsorship or remote working from overseas cannot be offered on this occasion.

Responsibilities

  • The day-to-day remit is predominantly advisory work on employment law matters such as hiring; performance management and termination; wage and hour rules; harassment, discrimination and bullying; contingent worker issues etc.
  • You will work closely with HR and other departments to ensure consistency of employment policies across the business, as well as delivering training and implementation strategy relating to the UK Employment Rights Act.
  • There will also be the requirement to liaise with external counsel on tribunal/litigation matters.
