A manufacturing business is looking to appoint an EHS Support Specialist to support site operations during a busy period of operational change and project activity. This is a hands-on, site-based role suited to someone who enjoys being operationally involved, working closely with engineering, production and contractor teams to maintain high environmental, health & safety standards within a complex industrial environment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Supporting day-to-day EHS activities across site
  • Assisting with hazardous chemical management, COSHH and SDS reviews
  • Coordinating contractors, RAMS reviews and permit to work activities
  • Supporting audits, inspections and compliance reporting
  • Assisting with incident investigations and corrective actions
  • Supporting environmental compliance, waste management and emergency preparedness
  • Providing EHS input into site projects, modifications and change activities

What we're looking for:

  • Previous experience within an industrial, manufacturing, engineering or chemical environment
  • Strong understanding of UK EHS legislation and practical application
  • Experience with contractor management, risk assessments and incident investigations
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced plant environment
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Degree qualified in a relevant scientific or chemical discipline

Desirable:

  • COMAH or chemical manufacturing exposure
  • ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 experience
  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent
