A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Management Accountant to join a respected and growing organisation based in Coventry. This is a key role within the finance function, responsible for leading a small team and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data across the business. You will oversee the end-to-end management accounting process, ensuring invoices are captured correctly, costs are allocated to the right cost centres, and financial information is prepared in a timely, reliable, and meaningful way. You will analyse variances against budgets, provide clear commentary on key drivers, and manage journals including accruals, depreciation, prepayments, and operating expenses to maintain robust financial records. This is a highly visible role where you will consolidate financial information and present clear insights to the Board, playing a crucial part in supporting decision making.

Responsibilities of the Management Accountant

  • Prepare accurate monthly management accounts, ensuring all financial information is presented clearly and in accordance with established deadlines.
  • Manage, support, and develop a team of three finance professionals, ensuring workloads are prioritised and delivered to deadlines.
  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes by providing detailed analysis and insightful commentary on variances to assist with strategic planning.
  • Present monthly financial results, variances, and commentary to the Board in an engaging and informative way.
  • Assist with year-end audit preparation by maintaining thorough records and responding promptly to auditor queries, contributing to a smooth audit process.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and provide regular reports to senior management, highlighting trends and areas for improvement in a clear and accessible manner.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior members of the finance team, nurturing their growth through knowledge sharing and encouragement.
