What you'll do

  • Facilitate comprehensive programme planning activities by managing the identification, capture, and coordination of key milestones and dependencies both within and outside aligned programmes.
  • Ensure that all teams are proactively identifying, capturing, and managing programme risks and issues with robust mitigation strategies in place.
  • Lead resource demand and capability management efforts for aligned teams to ensure optimal allocation and utilisation of skills across projects.
  • Drive the implementation of Transformation Office reporting by developing dashboards and metrics for assigned programmes while establishing additional reporting frameworks as required.
  • Review and quality assure programme plans, RAID logs (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies), reports, business cases, and other critical submissions to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Act as the primary contact for risk control self-assessments and audit activities by ensuring appropriate assurance measures are implemented and remediation actions are completed promptly.
  • Collaborate with business colleagues to establish and maintain effective benefits tracking processes that integrate seamlessly into wider transformation office reporting.
  • Champion effective ways of working by leading arrangements for team mobilisation, knowledge management initiatives, communication strategies, and lessons learned sessions across programmes.
  • Provide light-touch PMO support for additional initiatives within the portfolio that may not have dedicated PMO resources assigned when required.
  • Promote continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to optimise value flow and embed agile principles throughout all aspects of programme delivery.

What you bring

  • Extensive hands-on experience from previous roles focused on change delivery within large organisations.
  • Deep familiarity with project governance structures as well as practical involvement in facilitating planning cycles for complex programmes.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with collaboration tools such as Jira; familiarity with Planview, Project Online, or PowerBI would be beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Strong understanding of lean project management principles combined with practical experience applying continual service improvement methodologies.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills with the ability to build trust-based relationships across diverse teams while promoting intentional collaboration.
  • Excellent communication abilities—both written and verbal—enabling you to convey complex information clearly to technical and non-technical audiences alike.
  • Solid grasp of risk management practices including the ability to identify potential issues early on and implement effective mitigation strategies.
  • Experience supporting scaled agile frameworks (SAFe) or similar methodologies within transformation environments is highly desirable.
  • Project Management qualifications such as APM Project Management Qualification or equivalent certifications are considered an asset but not essential if balanced by relevant experience.
  • A commitment to upholding standards compliance while contributing positively to team culture through empathy, dependability, and a nurturing approach.
