An exciting opportunity has arisen for an In-House Construction Solicitor to join a well-established organisation within the UK property and infrastructure sector. This is a key leadership role within a specialist legal function, providing expert advice across complex construction, development, and commercial matters. The position offers significant exposure to large-scale, multi-stakeholder projects and the opportunity to influence delivery at a strategic level.
Contract: 18-month fixed-term contract
Location: Cheshire
Salary: £80,000 - £90,000 per annum
Working Pattern: Hybrid - 2 days in office, 3 days remote
Key Responsibilities:- Provide clear, commercially focused legal advice on construction, development, and contractual matters.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a range of construction and project-related agreements, including professional appointments and ancillary documentation.
- Support the structuring and execution of complex development arrangements across multiple stakeholders.
- Lead negotiations with contractors, consultants, and external counterparties.
- Ensure consistency and compliance across all project documentation and underlying agreements.
- Advise on legal risk and relevant regulatory developments affecting projects.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders across commercial, technical, and delivery teams.
- Liaise with external legal advisers as required to support transaction delivery.
- Solicitor in England and Wales with 6+ years' post-qualification experience.
- Strong background in construction law, real estate development, or related project-based legal work.
- Proven ability to negotiate and draft complex commercial contracts.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, delivery-focused environment.
- Experience in large-scale development or infrastructure projects.
- Exposure to funding structures or multi-party contractual frameworks.
- Experience working across multidisciplinary project teams.
