I'm currently looking for a Shift Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer to join a highly skilled engineering team on a long-term, secure contract within a major manufacturing environment. The role will initially be a
12 month fixed term contract
with a strong possibility of extension / permanent employment upon completion.
The Role
You'll be working on a
4 on / 6 off
shift pattern (days / nights) - 12-hour shifts (Banked Hours System) As part of the on-site maintenance team, you will be responsible for: Responding to breakdowns and minimising downtime Delivering planned and preventive maintenance activities Supporting installation and upgrade projects Carrying out continuous improvement work on crane systems Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard This is a
hands-on, customer-facing role
where strong communication and teamwork are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical and mechanical maintenance on crane systems Fault finding and diagnostics across a range of equipment Working with motors, brakes, sensors, and safety devices Maintaining high standards of health & safety at all times Supporting apprentices and contributing to team knowledge
Requirements
Time-served Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer (ONC / HNC or equivalent) NVQ Level 3 with a minimum of 3 years' site experience Electrical fault-finding capability Mechanical maintenance experience (bearings, wheels, ropes, etc.) Comfortable working at height Desirable: Experience with PLCs and inverters Welding or bench fitting skills Exposure to crane or lifting equipment (training provided if not)
