I'm currently supporting a leading COMAH-regulated chemical manufacturing organisation, who are looking to recruit an experienced E&I Technician. This is a key role supporting the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of plant equipment within a complex industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform planned preventive and reactive maintenance on electrical, control, and instrumentation systems
  • Diagnose faults and carry out effective troubleshooting and repairs
  • Work within a permit-to-work system, ensuring full compliance
  • Use engineering and ERP systems for work orders, maintenance planning, and materials management
  • Support wider site engineering activities and improvement projects
  • Provide cover for the E&I Coordinator when required
  • Maintain strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards

About You

We're looking for a hands-on engineer with a strong maintenance background in a similar heavy industrial setting.

Essential:

  • Time-served Electrical / Instrumentation Maintenance Engineer
  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Installation or related discipline
  • 18th Edition (BS7671) certification
  • Proven experience in fault finding and diagnostics
  • Background in chemical, petrochemical, or high-hazard manufacturing environments
  • Strong communication skills and ability to prioritise tasks
  • Good level of computer literacy

Desirable:

  • CompEx (Ex01-Ex06) certification
  • Experience working in ATEX / hazardous area environments
