A leading organisation in Manchester is seeking a Financial Reporting Manager to join their Group Services team. This newly created position offers you the opportunity to play a pivotal role in preparing consolidated financial statements under IFRS, managing internal financial reporting, and acting as a key technical resource across the finance function.

What you'll do:

  • As Financial Reporting Manager, you will be central to the preparation of consolidated financial statements under IFRS while managing internal financial reporting processes.
  • Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve overseeing month-end cycles, producing quality management information for divisional leaders, preparing audit deliverables for review, documenting technical accounting positions on complex issues such as revenue recognition or leases, and drafting robust technical papers for senior stakeholders.
  • Oversee the month-end process to ensure timely internal reporting and produce high-quality management information that supports divisional Finance Directors and business partners.
  • Take responsibility for monthly, half-yearly, and year-end close cycles by coordinating activities across the group finance function.
  • Prepare audit deliverables for first review and resolve audit queries efficiently within agreed timelines to maintain compliance standards.
  • Document technical accounting positions and draft detailed technical papers on complex matters such as revenue recognition (IFRS 15), leases (IFRS 16), share-based payments (IFRS 2), and business combinations (IFRS 3) for senior stakeholders.
  • Manage and develop a small team of two direct reports by providing guidance, mentorship, and fostering collaborative growth.
  • Collaborate closely with FP&A business partner; systems; and financial operations teams to ensure seamless integration of processes across the group.
  • Support ad-hoc projects including system improvements, process automation initiatives, and acquisition integrations to drive operational excellence.
  • Work alongside non-finance stakeholders to build credible relationships that enhance cross-functional understanding and cooperation.
  • Ensure all working papers are methodically prepared with high attention to detail for review-ready presentation.
  • Contribute actively to internal knowledge sharing sessions aimed at improving technical skills across the finance function.

What you bring:

  • To excel as Financial Reporting Manager, you will bring proven experience as an ACA or ACCA qualified accountant with sound knowledge of IFRS/UK GAAP.
