An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Manager to join a growing business based in Bolton. This is a broad and commercially focused role offering the chance to lead a core finance function while driving process improvements, systems development, and reporting enhancements across the business.

You will lead a team across Management Accounts and Transactional Finance while partnering closely with senior stakeholders to deliver accurate financial reporting, support compliance, and improve business performance. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop the finance team across Management Accounts and Transactional Finance ensuring effective day-to-day operations and team performance
  • Take ownership of the monthly close cycle, delivering accurate management accounts and high-quality reporting packs for senior leadership
  • Produce consolidated accounts and statutory reporting across several group entities in line with reporting requirements
  • Assist with wider group reporting obligations and support ongoing financial governance and compliance activities
  • Oversee cashflow management across the group, including monitoring intercompany balances and transactions
  • Coordinate the annual external audit process, acting as the main point of contact for auditors throughout
  • Ensure VAT returns and related compliance submissions are completed accurately and within deadlines across the group
  • Continuously review and enhance finance processes, controls, and reporting frameworks to improve efficiency and accuracy
  • Work collaboratively with IT and senior stakeholders to strengthen finance systems and reporting capabilities
  • Contribute to ERP and finance transformation initiatives, with a focus on automation and process improvement
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve workflows and reduce manual processes through the use of technology and automation

About You

  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified
  • Previous experience within a Finance Manager or Senior Management Accounts role
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge including statutory reporting and consolidations
  • Experience managing month-end processes, audits, and compliance requirements
  • Proven experience leading and developing finance teams
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Advanced Excel and strong systems experience
  • Proactive mindset with a focus on process improvement and efficiency
