An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an Associate General Counsel to join a highly respected international legal team based in London. Key responsibilities:
- Provide expert advice on global structure and corporate governance matters, including partnership secretarial issues as well as the opening, closing, and restructuring of offices worldwide.
- Advise on all aspects of global regulatory compliance by responding proactively to new regulations and implementing robust policies and procedures across the organisation.
- Identify potential legal and business risks within contracts, offering practical solutions to mitigate these risks while supporting commercial objectives.
- Support the assessment of current and future reporting obligations related to modern slavery legislation, sanctions laws, corporate sustainability requirements, and other regulatory frameworks.
- Collaborate closely with partners and business service leads to ensure effective risk management strategies are embedded throughout the organisation's operations.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of training programmes focused on compliance and risk management best practices for colleagues across various regions.
- Communicate complex legal issues clearly to stakeholders at all levels, ensuring understanding through concise explanations and sensitive handling of challenging topics.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a matrixed environment, demonstrating excellent document management skills and attention to detail throughout each assignment.

Skills required:
- Hold a practising certificate as a qualified transactional lawyer admitted in England & Wales or New York State (or similar) with 3-5 years post-qualification experience gained at a leading national or international law firm alongside strong academic credentials.
- Demonstrate prior experience within a general counsel or risk team at a major international law firm (preferred), showcasing your ability to navigate complex organisational structures.
- Be recognised for delivering high-quality legal advice in specific practice areas while consistently making ethical and strategic decisions aligned with organisational interests.
- Foster an inclusive team-oriented environment where collaboration, diligence, precision, and attention to detail are valued above all else.
