What you’ll do:
- Play an integral role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the EHS function.
- Develop effective safety programmes and provide expert advice on regulatory compliance.
- Be actively involved in auditing practices across multiple departments, identifying areas for improvement while fostering a culture of safety awareness throughout the organisation.
- Collaborate closely with plant personnel and external stakeholders to drive continuous improvement initiatives that meet and exceed statutory requirements.
- Manage sensitive documentation and respond promptly to agency enquiries.
What you bring:
- Proven experience from a previous role where you have supported EHS compliance and initiatives.
- Hands-on involvement in environmental reporting processes or direct participation in audits/inspections related to workplace safety.
- Strong interpersonal skills that allow you to build trust-based relationships across different teams.
- A methodical yet adaptable approach, enabling effective responses under pressure.
- A keen eye for detail combined with excellent organisational abilities.
- Formal qualification in chemical engineering, environmental science, chemistry or another EHS-related technical discipline is highly desirable.
- Previous experience working within EHS in a manufacturing or similar industrial sector is preferred.
- Demonstrable experience in environmental reporting as well as administration of permits, programme audits, inspections and other aspects of compliance is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with independent standards organisations such as ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) or ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety) is advantageous.
- Certification as a safety professional (such as IOSH, NEBOSH or AOSH) would be beneficial but not mandatory.
- Proven ability to develop effective projects/programmes through collaborative engagement with colleagues at all levels.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to convey technical information clearly across diverse audiences.
- Strong analytical skills for interpreting technical reports/regulatory documents and managing confidential information discreetly.
- Experience working collaboratively within multi-site organisations, including third-party consultants and supporting remote teams, is highly valued.
