Management Accountant (FTC - 6 Months Initially)

Location: Wilmslow (3 days per week onsite)

Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 (pro rata)

Contract: Fixed-Term Contract - 6 Months Initially (Potential to Extend)

Working Pattern: Monday, Wednesday and Friday onsite preferred

Hours: 8:30am - 5:30pm

Start Date: ASAP

The Opportunity

Robert Walters are pleased to be partnered exclusively with a Manufacturing business who are seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join the finance team on an initial 6-month fixed-term contract, providing cover during a period of sickness absence. The role will suit someone who enjoys ownership, pace, and the opportunity to enhance existing finance operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts and month-end reporting
  • Delivery of month-end close within a typical 2-day turnaround
  • Posting accruals and prepayments
  • Intercompany recharges and reconciliations
  • Processing central and Head Office invoices
  • Managing finance inbox queries and invoice processing
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • VAT return preparation and submission
  • Supporting payments and general ledger activities
  • Ad hoc reporting and finance support tasks
  • Identifying and implementing process and control improvements

About You

  • Proven experience in a Management Accountant role
  • Strong month-end reporting and accounting background
  • Experience with Sage 50
  • Confident working in a fast-paced SME/manufacturing environment
  • Strong technical understanding of accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations
  • Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
  • Proactive approach to improving systems, processes, and controls

Qualifications
