Our client is seeking a VAT Specialist to join their global finance team, supporting the company's aggressive growth plans. This role offers excellent career opportunities and the chance to work in a dynamic environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation and timely filing of indirect tax returns in the UK and EU, advising on correct VAT treatment for transactions, and supporting the head of tax and external advisers with direct tax compliance.

What you’ll do:

  • Prepare and file indirect tax returns in the UK and EU.
  • Advise on correct VAT treatment for transactions.
  • Support the head of tax and external advisers with direct tax compliance.
  • Assist with transfer pricing information provision.
  • Gather information during external tax audits.
  • Prepare VAT returns, EC Sales lists, EC Purchase Lists and Intrastat returns across EMEA.
  • Perform proper reconciliation of VAT Returns to ERP GL Codes and manage follow up actions required with AP and AR.
  • Ensure all VAT filings (including payments) are completed timely, maintaining a compliance calendar.
  • Perform quarterly QIPS calculations for the UK.
  • Assist with annual tax reporting process for the Group's statutory accounts working with external advisers as needed.

What you bring:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in VAT compliance, preferably gained within large multi-nationals or major accounting firms.
  • Technical knowledge of UK and EU tax legislation, along with strong Excel skills.
  • Experience with SAGE would be beneficial.
  • Exceptional organisational skills, allowing you to manage your workload effectively while meeting strict deadlines.
  • A keen eye for detail and a proactive approach are essential.
