I'm working with a Climate Tech startup that’s fresh off a £5m seed round and already pulling in £3m ARR—and they’re only getting started. They’re tackling some of the biggest environmental challenges out there, and they need a Senior Software Engineer who’s excited to build solutions that make a tangible difference. If that sounds like you, keep reading.

Responsibilities

  • Architect & Build: You’ll design and implement features from the ground up on their climate-focused platform—turning big ideas into robust, scalable solutions.
  • Solve Complex Problems: This is no ordinary environment; you’ll wrestle with scale, data integrity, and the unique challenges of a climate-related product.
  • Collaborate: You’ll work cross-functionally with product, design, and other engineers to shape the roadmap and ensure top-notch user experiences.
  • Own Your Work: From concept to deployment, you’ll have full responsibility for your projects and the outcomes they drive.

What They’re Looking For

  • Technical Excellence: You’ve got a strong foundation in modern software development—whether it’s microservices, front-end frameworks, or data pipelines. (Their stack is Python, React, AWS)
  • Passion for Impact: They’re all about real-world solutions, so if you’re excited by the prospect of using tech to make a difference, you’ll fit right in.
  • Startup Vibe: This is a fast-paced environment with plenty of room for creativity, experimentation, and iteration—you’ll need to adapt quickly.
  • Autonomy & Initiative: They love self-starters who spot opportunities for improvement and make them happen.
  • Clear Communication: Expect daily collaboration and feedback loops—you’ll want to keep everyone in the loop and vice versa.

Why Join Them?

  • Meaningful Work: Every commit directly contributes to fighting climate change—how often do you get to say that?
  • Early-Stage Ownership: With ÂŁ5m raised at seed and ÂŁ3m ARR, it’s prime time to shape product direction, culture, and strategy.
  • Fast-Paced & Dynamic: Minimal red tape, high-impact projects, and the freedom to innovate.
  • Supportive Team Culture: They’re small but growing quickly, which means you’ll have a big voice in how things evolve.
  • Location Flexibility: Their main office is in Farringdon, and they’d love to see you once a week if possible—but it’s not a deal-breaker if you can’t.

The Hiring Process

They keep it simple and transparent. First, there’ll be an introductory chat (with me, as your recruiter, and/or directly with them). Next up is technical deep dives—think architecture, live coding, and systems design—and finally a conversation about values and culture. No lengthy waits or hidden steps.
