Overview
As Senior Management Accountant, you will immerse yourself in every aspect of the finance function—leading both internal colleagues and outsourced partners towards shared success. Your day-to-day activities will involve not only preparing robust management accounts but also providing insightful analysis that shapes strategic direction. You will champion best practices in financial reporting while nurturing talent within your team through coaching, mentoring, and clear communication.
Responsibilities
- Lead internal teams and outsourced partners in delivering high-quality management accounts and insightful financial analysis.
- Champion best practices in financial reporting and internal controls.
- Coach, mentor and develop finance staff; communicate clearly with non-finance stakeholders; present findings at board level when required.
- Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency while maintaining quality.
- Collaborate across departments to uphold integrity and drive business performance.
Qualifications
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
- Experience managing finance teams (internal and outsourced) with mentoring experience of at least three years.
- Comprehensive knowledge of management accounts processes, variance analysis, and providing actionable insights.
- Track record of identifying inefficiencies and implementing improvements.
- Ability to work on own initiative and prioritise under pressure while supporting wider finance objectives.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to communicate complex financial information to senior leadership.
- Minimum three years’ experience working with business stakeholders or external parties (auditors/consultants).
- Fully qualified accountant status (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
