A leading international financial institution is seeking a VP, Product Control to join their London-based Finance department. As Vice President, Product Control, you will be responsible for overseeing critical financial control activities that underpin the integrity of the organisation's trading operations. Your day to day work will involve producing accurate daily P&L reports for various securities desks, ensuring that all revenue balances are reconciled with management information systems. You will also provide essential backup coverage for complex derivative trades while enhancing independent price verification processes. By investigating discrepancies and driving process improvements, you will help strengthen the overall control environment. Your expertise will be called upon to substantiate balance sheet entries and participate in transformative projects aimed at optimising finance operations. Success in this role requires close collaboration with both Front Office traders and infrastructure teams, as well as a commitment to sharing knowledge within your team.
- Deliver daily profit and loss reporting for all products and services across securities product desks with accuracy and insightful commentary.
- Provide backup cover for daily P&L reporting on derivative trades with particular focus on IRS, CCS, and RPI transactions.
- Produce daily XVA reports while continuously enhancing the independent price verification process to ensure robust controls.
- Investigate root causes of issues identified in core activities by collaborating with stakeholders to resolve them efficiently.
- Drive enhancements to the control framework by identifying opportunities for process automation and change management initiatives.
- Substantiate general ledger balances on the balance sheet through detailed analysis and reconciliation procedures.
- Ensure that general ledger revenue balances align with management reports and daily revenue statements by providing clear explanations.
