As a Health and Safety Manager, your role will be pivotal in promoting an understanding that effective management of health and safety is integral to efficient business and operational management. You will coordinate and monitor safety-related systems and carry out inspections. Your expertise will be crucial in advising management on health & safety legislation, safe methods of working, prevention of hazards to health, protective equipment and control measures.
Our client is seeking a dedicated Health and Safety Manager to join their team in London. This role offers a competitive salary range of £40,000-£55,000. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving forward a health and safety culture across the operation. What you’ll do:
- Promote health and safety awareness across the site
- Coordinate and monitor safety related processes including risk assessment, training, accident investigation, workplace safety audits
- Complete audits and share best practice regarding all health and safety matters
- Work closely with facilities to ensure contractors work safely on site
- Advise management on health & safety legislation, safe methods of working, prevention of hazards to health and the suitability of plant, protective equipment and control measures
- Maintain the Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) plan and support delivery of all associated actions
What you bring:
- Minimum NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety
- Demonstrable experience in a similar role within a logistics environment / FMCG / Chilled or perishable goods
- Experienced in assisting with an effective implementation of a H&S management system
- Effective interpersonal, management and communication skills
- Organised and detail oriented
- Good IT and data analysis skills
