A leading global quantitative and systematic investment manager is seeking a Corporate Actions Specialist to join their Operations team in London. What you’ll do
- Monitor upcoming corporate action events - both mandatory and voluntary - ensuring accurate processing, timely elections management, and clear communication across internal systems and external stakeholders.
- Reconcile transactions and positions using three-way reconciliations between internal systems, fund administrators, and prime brokers; investigate discrepancies such as incorrect quantities, prices, security identifiers, or dividend issues until resolution is achieved.
- Act as the primary point of contact for multiple trading desks on all matters related to corporate actions, handling queries efficiently and providing prompt resolutions to ensure seamless operations.
- Collaborate closely with traders, treasury teams, senior management, risk professionals, and COO functions to address issues and respond to queries regarding corporate actions processes.
- Oversee broker matching activities (including Traiana/CTM), monitor trade fails diligently, and conduct start-of-day reconciliations to maintain accuracy across all records.
- Perform T+1 transaction and position reconciliations versus prime brokers; escalate any unresolved issues promptly to minimise operational risk.
- Assist with trade booking and processing across various asset classes as required by the business needs of the trading desks.
- Drive change initiatives by identifying opportunities for automation that create efficiencies and strengthen the control landscape throughout the organisation.
- Support ongoing process improvements by contributing insights gained from hands-on experience in corporate actions management.
Qualifications
- Minimum five years’ industry experience in corporate actions or equity operations within financial services or investment management environments is essential for this role.
- A comprehensive understanding of the end-to-end corporate actions lifecycle, including both voluntary and mandatory events is required to manage complex scenarios effectively.
- Demonstrated proficiency in performing reconciliations and resolving breaks involving transaction details such as quantity mismatches or pricing discrepancies is vital.
