We are hiring an experienced IT Engineer with strong experience across Infrastructure and Applications to join an impressive wealth management firm, on an exciting and critical project.
JOB PURPOSE: Work within the IT Infrastructure Team to support their day-to-day tasks and ongoing projects, including user support, under the management and guidance of the IT Infrastructure Team Manager.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- As Officer within the IT Infrastructure Team of the Information Technology Department
- Working as part of the IT Infrastructure Team you will be required to help support and manage all aspects of Windows Server and Desktop Administration, including but not restricted to the following areas:
- Carryout Infrastructure Checks based on Daily and Monthly Checklist.
- Monitoring and Maintaining Backups using Veeam software.
- Using VMWare vSphere (On-Premise not Cloud) to create and manage servers.
- Using VMWare Horizon (On-Premise not Cloud) to provide Non-Persistent desktops pools, including management of Golden Images.
- Manage and Create Active Directory Group Policies to support desktop and server standards, including but not limited to:
- Security Hardening Servers and Desktops to CIS Standards.
- Controlling ODBC configurations.
- Controlling the deployment of security certificates.
- Running scripts at logon or startup.
- Application Control/Lock Down Support Workspace One MDM system to control WFH devices and Company Phones.
- Support DNS and DHCP changes as and when required.
- Windows Patching.
- Provide ‘Second Line’ User Support for issues including but not limited to:
- Office 365 – Outlook, Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint
- Peripheral issues
- Investigations into Email flow problems.
- Meeting Room Support – Projector, Desktop, TV and Sound issues
- User Account Unlocking (Windows and other applications)
- Primary Investigation and escalation of network issues
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Experience of Windows Administration in a Domain environment, including full management of Active Directory features (GPO, DNS, DHCP, etc) is required.
- Experience of Windows Operating System hardening to CIS standards.
- Experience of using On-Premises VMWare in a Server and Horizon desktop environment.
- Experience of Storage Provisioning and Management in VMware
- Experience of MDM systems, ideally WorkSpace One/Airwatch
- Experience of AWS server and storage deployments.
- Experience of supporting Video Conferencing Platforms (Zoom, Teams, etc)
- Experience of supporting users remotely, via chat and screen sharing.

Rate: £220 a day
IR35: Inside (PAYE)
