A leading global financial services organization is seeking a VP - FX and Emerging Markets Product Controller to join their London office. This is an exceptional opportunity for you to take ownership of a highly visible function, overseeing complex trading activities across Flow, Options, and Structured Products desks. You will be empowered to drive improvements in control standards and collaborate with senior stakeholders across the business.
What you'll do:
- Manage the comprehensive daily reporting of trading profit and loss as well as balance sheet positions for the EMEA FX & EM business, providing detailed commentary on key exposures and market context.
- Conduct intelligent analysis of business performance and trading activity while ensuring adherence to governance requirements and optimal deployment of financial resources.
- Coordinate Finance-wide reviews of new products and transactions, presenting findings to senior management and ensuring compliance with internal policies.
- Own the business relationship by validating profit recognition challenges and reserve requirements for new deals.
- Calculate financial resource consumption metrics such as capital usage, balance sheet impact, and leverage exposure for new transactions.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships across Trading, Risk Management, Middle Office, Operations, and IT to facilitate effective communication and problem-solving.
- Monitor key controls and reconciliations while ensuring strict adherence to established policies and procedures.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing the control environment and maintaining best practice standards.
- Represent Finance interests on firm-wide projects that require cross-departmental collaboration.
- Ensure all activities comply fully with Product Control policies as well as broader organisational policy standards.
What you bring:
- Demonstrated experience in product control within financial services with deep understanding of FX cash instruments as well as derivatives such as options and forwards.
- Proven track record in analysing complex structured note products is desirable but not essential for success in this role.
- Professional accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent) is preferred alongside strong academic credentials in numerate disciplines.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently with excellent time management skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills enabling you to build collaborative relationships with stakeholders across Trading, Risk Management, Middle Office, Operations, and IT.
- Experience implementing improvements in controls or processes that add value for clients or stakeholders within a finance function.
