The Data Lead will build and lead the organisation's data engineering capability, ensuring a scalable, cost-effective platform that supports the company’s ambition to be data-led. Initially, the role will focus on transforming the existing data warehouse into a GCP based analytics platform, integrating system and client APIs, and preparing for AI/ML adoption.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to optimise data usage.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise data infrastructure for performance and cost.
  • Ensure data security, compliance, and proper documentation.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies.

Role Requirements

  • Strong SQL skills and experience with database management systems.
  • Proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (GCP Preferred).
  • Experience with API development, CI/CD, and workflow management tools.

  • Reports to the Head of Data and Analytics.
  • Hybrid role with remote work and occasional UK site visits (2-3 days per week).
