This role is situated in the vibrant city of London, where you will be entrusted with the management of the company\’s tax matters across all taxes, encompassing all CIB and non-CIB businesses. The successful candidate will have the privilege to operate in a dynamic setting, contributing to a responsible and sustainable economy by financing and advising clients in accordance with the highest ethical standards.
What you\’ll do:
- Oversee the preparation of tax returns for relevant group companies.
- Coordinate administrative requirements including payments to HMRC.
- Fulfil the role of Secretary for the UK Tax Committee.
- Ensure adherence to UK Tax Legislation and company policies.
- Oversee quarterly process for preparing and reviewing CIB tax disclosures.
- Provide guidance and support to Finance departments on statutory tax disclosures.
- Complete corporation tax computations and related administration.
- Address non-CIB corporation tax queries.
- Serve as point of contact for all UK direct tax queries relating to CIB subsidiaries.
What you bring:
- Professional accounting or legal qualification with a specialism in taxation (e.g. ICAEW, CTA).
- Ability to operate independently under tight deadlines.
- Detailed understanding of UK tax legislation.
- Accounting knowledge including current and deferred tax accounting.
- Solid working knowledge of the international tax regime.
- Ability to perform risk assessment of control issues.
- Understanding of tax control framework including identifying areas for improvement.
- Ability to analyse complex tax issues clearly for non-tax specialists.
