An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Business Partner to join a forward-thinking organisation based in Dunstable, offering a competitive salary of £75,000. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a collaborative and supportive environment, where your expertise will be valued across the entire profit and loss spectrum.

What you\’ll do:

As a Finance Business Partner, you will immerse yourself in a varied role that spans all areas of financial management within the organisation. Your day-to-day activities will see you partnering closely with colleagues across departments to provide expert financial guidance and ensure that all aspects of P&L are managed effectively. You will have significant involvement in profitability modelling by value stream-working directly with business owners to analyse trends and identify opportunities for improvement. Reporting on revenue performance will be central to your responsibilities; you will collaborate with senior finance leaders to adapt presentations for different audiences while ensuring accuracy and relevance. Fixed asset accounting will fall under your remit as well, requiring attention to detail and strong organisational skills. In addition to these core duties, you will contribute to major finance activities such as budgeting cycles and forecasting exercises. Your support will extend into intangible asset processes-ensuring capitalisation is handled correctly each month-and you\’ll play an important role in integrating international accounts into consolidated reports. Building data warehouses and developing metrics dashboards alongside senior commercial finance leaders will allow you to influence how financial data is used throughout the organisation. Flexibility is key; you\’ll also provide valuable input on special projects ranging from ESG reporting to process improvements in travel expenses or credit card management.

  • Support all finance business partners in delivering their daily, weekly, and monthly responsibilities with a focus on providing accurate and timely financial information across the full profit and loss account.
  • Co-own profitability modelling by value stream in partnership with relevant business owners to ensure robust analysis and actionable recommendations.
  • Work alongside the Senior Finance Manager (Revenue) to report on revenue performance, adapting reporting methods as needed to meet evolving business requirements.
  • Take responsibility for fixed assets reporting, accounting, and monitoring processes with guidance from the Senior Finance Manager to maintain compliance and accuracy.
  • Assist with set piece finance activities such as monthly management reporting, annual budgeting cycles, and rolling forecast management to support organisational objectives.
  • Provide support on intangible asset processes including monthly capitalisation activities and associated reporting requirements.
  • Offer broader assistance to the Management Accountant on various aspects of monthly reporting, particularly focusing on integrating overseas accounts providers into consolidated reports.
  • Collaborate with the Commercial Finance Director to build, create, and manage finance data warehouses as well as develop comprehensive metrics dashboards for enhanced decision-making.
  • Adapt accountabilities as required by providing ad hoc support on diverse business projects such as ESG reporting initiatives, travel and expense system improvements, or company credit card process enhancements.

What you bring:

To excel as a Finance Business Partner in this organisation, your background should include substantial experience within commercial finance environments where collaboration with both finance professionals and wider business teams has been essential. Your technical expertise should encompass advanced analytical abilities-enabling you to interpret complex data sets quickly while drawing out actionable insights that can shape strategic direction. A deep understanding of key commercial metrics is vital; you should be comfortable discussing revenue drivers or margin trends with stakeholders at all levels. Advanced proficiency in Excel is expected given the importance of data manipulation within this role; familiarity with other financial systems would be highly advantageous. Professional qualifications such as CIMA, ACCA or ACA-or equivalent practical experience-will underpin your credibility when advising others on best practice approaches. Experience managing fixed assets or supporting intangible asset capitalisation processes will further strengthen your application. Above all else, your interpersonal skills must shine: success here depends on building trusted relationships across departments so that everyone feels supported by your expertise.

  • Demonstrated experience in a commercial finance or FP&A role where you have worked collaboratively with non-finance stakeholders such as sales, marketing or operations teams.
  • Advanced analytical skills with proven ability to transform complex datasets into clear insights that inform business decisions.
  • Strong background in financial modelling techniques including scenario analysis, forecasting methodologies, and value stream analysis.
  • Comprehensive understanding of key commercial metrics such as revenue recognition principles, gross margin calculations, and annual customer value assessments.
  • Proficiency in using financial systems coupled with advanced Excel capabilities including pivot tables, lookups, data manipulation functions, and large dataset management.
  • Fully qualified or partially qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA or ACA), or equivalent experience gained within a commercial finance setting.
  • Experience supporting fixed asset accounting processes including monitoring asset registers and preparing related reports for management review.
  • Familiarity with intangible asset capitalisation procedures along with associated monthly reporting requirements.
  • Ability to work flexibly across multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards of accuracy and attention to detail.
