An excellent opportunity for someone early in their supply chain career to develop into a Production Planner. The Trainee Production Planner will support the planning team in creating, maintaining, and improving production schedules to ensure customer demand is met efficiently while controlling cost, stock, and service levels. This role offers hands‑on exposure to production planning, forecasting, inventory control, and cross‑functional working within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
About the role:
- Support the creation and maintenance of daily and weekly production plans aligned with customer demand and capacity.
- Assist in monitoring production schedules, highlighting risks and supporting resolution of shortages, delays, or capacity constraints.
- Maintain planning data within ERP/MRP systems, ensuring accuracy of stock levels, lead times, and routings.
- Liaise with Production, Procurement, Warehousing, and Customer Service to ensure smooth flow of materials and finished goods.
- Support management of raw material and packaging availability to avoid production interruptions.
- Assist with forecast analysis, promotional planning, and demand changes.
- Track and report key planning metrics including service levels, stock cover, and adherence to plan.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within planning and supply chain processes.
