Our client based in Birmingham is recruiting for a Part-Qualified Contract Accountant (Finalist) to join their finance team. This is a hybrid role paying between £32,000 - 37,000 per annum (DOE).
What you'll do:
- Support key stakeholders across both financial and non-financial areas by providing commercial insight that enables effective decision making and risk management.
- Deliver proactive ad-hoc financial analysis tailored to support business unit objectives and drive operational improvements.
- Identify, understand, and manage financial risks and opportunities arising from contract mechanisms and ongoing business performance.
- Prepare comprehensive business reports including month-end accounts, budgets, cash analysis, client reports, and other ad-hoc analyses for senior review.
- Conduct monthly balance sheet reviews for your area of responsibility, escalating significant risks or opportunities to senior stakeholders as appropriate.
- Ensure accurate recognition of sales and costs during the monthly accounts closing process while promoting working capital improvements through timely billing and debt management.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes by consolidating data, analysing variances, and preparing presentations for senior leadership.
- Support the completion of documentation required for client tenders, negotiations, and capital expenditure appraisals.
- Work closely with operational teams to ensure actions are executed efficiently within agreed timelines.
What you bring:
- Have completed the first level of professional exam qualifications such as CIMA, ACCA or ACA which demonstrates your commitment to developing expertise in finance.
- Show genuine passion for finance coupled with an understanding of management accounting principles relevant to commercial environments.
- Display excellent analytical abilities with meticulous attention to detail when reviewing financial data or preparing reports.
