What you'll do:
- Provide robust analytical support for trading portfolios, ensuring the accuracy of financial estimates, and maintaining effective governance over financial reporting processes.
- Explain complex P&L movements to senior management, consolidating critical business commentary, and communicating key findings across multiple stakeholder groups.
- Contribute thoughtfully to month-end processes, initiate recommendations for process enhancements, and act as a trusted point of contact for both local businesses and international teams.
- Represent your team on cross-functional projects and act as an advisory resource for other finance groups.
- Review, monitor, and analyse trading portfolios on a daily basis to ensure accuracy and provide insightful commentary for senior management.
- Deliver precise reporting of Profit and Loss (P&L) and Daily Financial Estimates (DFE) across equity derivatives, interest rate derivatives, and XVA management businesses.
- Provide clear explanations around daily P&L numbers, including detailed analysis of fluctuations and significant drivers for comprehensive management reporting.
- Develop an understanding of the relationship between reported figures in daily P&L statements and their impact on accounting records and balance sheets.
- Consolidate and review business entity DFE commentary to maintain high standards of governance and control across all trading activities.
- Communicate Independent Price Verification (IPV) results effectively to key stakeholders within the business lines, ensuring transparency and clarity.
- Contribute to month-end and quarter-end reporting processes by ensuring completeness and accuracy of all submissions.
- Initiate analytical reviews to recommend improvements that enhance overall business efficiency and support ongoing process optimisation.
- Act as a liaison between infrastructure teams on reporting processes related to production issue resolution, fostering strong interdepartmental relationships.
- Represent the analytics team on various project groups, collaborating with peers and business partners to drive continuous improvement.
